Her call to preach was affirmed in April 2016 when she was licensed at The Sanctuary, and in December 2024, she was officially ordained at The Sanctuary at Kingdom Square in Upper Marlboro, MD—marking her unwavering commitment to God’s call. Reverend Krystle holds a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations from Hampton University and graduated in May 2024 with her Master of Divinity from the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University. She is currently pursuing her Doctor of Ministry with a concentration in Church Administration and Crisis Leadership within the African American church.

Professionally, Reverend Krystle brings over 15 years of experience in property management. She is a Senior Property Manager for Greystar and serves on the Operations and Transitions Team for the Mid-Atlantic Region, which spans from Baltimore to Virginia Beach. In this role, she supports new developments, community onboarding, operational leadership, and team transitions.

In ministry, she serves as the Executive Administrator to Bishop Anthony G. Maclin and provides executive oversight at The Sanctuary at Kingdom Square—leading in ministerial operations, worship planning, clergy development, and organizational administration. Reverend Krystle is married to Bishop James D. Nelson Jr., her best friend and the love of her life. Together, they serve at Destiny Christian Church in Baltimore, MD. Their family includes three children, two grandchildren, and their affectionate pet, Koby.

A visionary and budding entrepreneur, Reverend Krystle is known for her keen discernment, organizational precision, and passion for people. When asked what inspires her most, she responds without hesitation: “Seeing others happy motivates me to keep going.”

PASTOR Krystle NELSON

Pastor Krystle Virginia Nelson is a purpose-driven woman whose life embodies  transformation, excellence, and service. Her journey reflects a deep commitment to faith,  leadership, and community—anchored by the belief that true change begins from within. 

 

The eldest of two children and the only daughter of Pastor Anthony and First Lady Peggy  Maclin, Reverend Krystle’s foundation was rooted in ministry. Her service began early at  The Sanctuary at Kingdom Square in Capitol Heights, MD, where she worked diligently  across several ministries. In 2015, she was appointed Director of the Women’s Ministry and served as the Coordinator of the Public & Media Relations Ministry. She also faithfully  taught a weekly Bible study for women titled, “Having a Mary’s Heart in a Martha’s World.”
